About the Journal
Relectio: Journal of Critical Governance and Legal Reform is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing critical inquiry, scholarly dialogue, and interdisciplinary debate on governance, law, and institutional reform. The journal provides an academic platform for publishing original research articles, conceptual papers, review articles, and policy analyses that examine the dynamics of power, state–society relations, institutional transformation, regulatory change, and the evolving relationship between law and governance.
Emphasizing critical, interdisciplinary, and context-sensitive approaches, Relectio welcomes manuscripts that challenge established theoretical frameworks, offer innovative interpretations of legal and governance systems, and explore alternative pathways toward more just, accountable, inclusive, and responsive public institutions. The journal has a particular interest in studies addressing contemporary issues in Southeast Asia, the Global South, and other regions where governance and legal reform are influenced by complex political, social, economic, and historical dynamics.
The journal welcomes submissions from scholars, researchers, practitioners, and graduate students representing a wide range of academic disciplines. Relectio encourages contributions from diverse fields of study, provided that the manuscripts engage meaningfully with issues related to governance and legal dynamics. Multidisciplinary perspectives are highly valued for their potential to provide fresh insights and broaden critical understanding of governance and legal studies.
Authors are required to use the journal’s official manuscript template and adhere to the prescribed writing style and formatting guidelines. As the template may be updated periodically, authors are strongly encouraged to download the latest version before preparing and submitting their manuscripts. The editorial team will only process manuscripts that fully comply with the journal’s formatting requirements and submission standards.
